RetireAustralia appoints two new Directors

RetireAustralia, has today announced the appointment of two new Independent Non-Executive Directors, with Professor Christine Bennett AO and Peter Spira joining the Board.

RetireAustralia was purchased by Infratil Limited and the New Zealand Superannuation Fund (50% each) on 31 December, last year.

Professor Christine Bennett AO is one of Australia's most respected medical academics and health specialists.

Professor Bennett has experience in clinical care, strategic planning and senior management in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors including involvement in medical professional issues, social policy and medical research. She is currently the Professor and Dean, of the School of Medicine, Sydney, The University of Notre Dame Australia. Prior to this appointment, she was the Chief Medical Officer for Bupa Australia Group.

Peter Spira is a former Director of the Meriton Group of Companies. Peter's career with Meriton began 36 years ago when he joined as an architect and went on to become the company's general manager. Meriton has built, sold and leased over 60,000 apartments in Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Christine Bennett and Peter Spira join NZ Super Fund's Nigel Gormly, Infratil's Mark Tume, and H.R.L. Morrison & Co's William Smales and Steven Fitzgerald (Chairperson), on the RetireAustralia Board.
