17 Nov 2004

A new airline plans to commence two new domestic services from Glasgow Prestwick next month.

Air Caledonian, a subsidiary of Clasair, is starting services to Stornoway and The City of Derry. The Stornoway flights will commence December 6 and The City of Derry flights start on December 14.

In both cases there will be two return flights a day. The Stornoway service will take fifty minutes and leaves Prestwick at 0815 and 1700. The return fare including taxes and charges is £129.

The City of Derry service will take just thirty minutes and leaves Prestwick at 0645 and 1915. The return fare including taxes and charges is £99.

Glasgow Prestwick Passenger Services Manager Paula Horne said: "Air Caledonian's new services will offer our two million passengers two more attractive destinations from Prestwick, Scotland's fastest-growing airport.

"And the new routes will allow people in the Stornoway and The City of Derry areas to connect with Ryanair's low-cost flights here at Prestwick, giving them the choice of seventeen great destinations such as London, Paris, Barcelona, Rome, Dusseldorf and Oslo."
