Announcing Ryanair's 10th Scottish route and its 8th route from its Glasgow Prestwick base Kathryn Munro Sales Manager for Scotland said "This is fantastic news for Glasgow Prestwick and for Scotland, once again we are pioneering low cost travel to countries that have been previously virtually impossible to get to and at rip off fares. Now the Scots will be able to get to Stockholm from as little as £49.99 one-way including tax. More important to the Scottish economy will be the fact that Sweden now has its first direct low cost link to Scotland, we predict that the route will attract more Swedish people into Scotland than Scots to Sweden - a major boost to Tourism and the Scottish economy."
Welcoming Ryanair's announcement of the Stockholm Skavsta route, Tom Wilson, Managing Director of Glasgow Prestwick International Airport said "There is undoubtedly a high demand for a low cost scheduled service between Scotland and Sweden. Passengers surveys in Glasgow Prestwick consistently demonstrate that many Swedes are travelling to Scotland via London. With the introduction of this service, the journey can now be made much more easily and for a very low fare. We look forward to this 8th Ryanair route from Glasgow Prestwick being a great success."
