H.R.L. Morrison & Co, Infratil’s Manager, has further strengthened its management capability with two recent senior appointments:
Marko Bogoievski has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer of Morrison & Co and Infratil.
Marko joins Infratil from Telecom, where he was Chief Financial Officer, responsible for corporate finance, M&A and group strategy. As CFO Marko has represented Telecom on the board of Hutchison Telecommunications Australia Limited and SKY Network Television Limited, and was more recently the Chair of the advisory board overseeing Telecom’s Australian business. Mr Bogoievski joined Telecom in May 2000 from the United States and has held a number of senior financial, operational and sales roles with Lion Nathan, Ansett, Elders Finance Group and Price Waterhouse. A Wellingtonian, he graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration. He also has a MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business.
As Chief Operating Officer, Marko will be responsible for driving performance and building capability across the Group, and assisting in the development of future growth options.
Mr Bogoievski noted “I’m very excited to be joining Morrison & Co and Infratil – a group in my home town which has proven itself to be one of New Zealand’s most innovative organisations. My experience in complex infrastructure businesses will complement Morrison & Co’s existing skills and should enable me to assist Morrison & Co and Infratil achieve the next level of scale and performance.”
Peter Coman has been appointed as Chief Executive of Morrison & Co and Infratil Property.
In this newly formed role, Mr Coman will be accountable for the development and performance of property within Infratil. For example, he will assess potential opportunities arising for Infratil shareholders from the PIE regime. Mr Coman will also be building Morrison & Co executive capability in the Property Sector.
Mr Coman joins having been Managing Director – Jones Lang LaSalle, New Zealand. In this role he had responsibility for the strategic review and repositioning of the New Zealand business. Key initiatives he led included implementing a local accountability structure, rebuilding the leadership team, developing a staff management culture, market profile development, client management strategies and new business development. Prior to Jones Lang LaSalle Mr Coman worked in London for Pricoa Property Private Equity and Lend Lease Property Capital. He has a Bachelor of Property Administration and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Auckland and a Masters of Science Degree in Investment Management from the City University Business School, London.
Mr Coman noted “There couldn’t be a better time to be developing Morrison & Co and Infratil’s property capability than now – capital markets are under-going a massive shakeout, property players in New Zealand and Australia are under enormous pressure and my expectation is that property prices could move substantially downwards. Given we are looking to grow and acquire and also to recruit, this is a good environment for us. Infratil also has a much larger property exposure than most people are aware of and this will provide a great platform for me to build a growth strategy around.”
