Infratil Airports Europe September 2007 Traffic Statistics

15 Oct 2007

Glasgow Prestwick Airport
Glasgow Prestwick handled a total of 223,617 passengers during the month, a drop of 1% compared to September 2006.

Once again the growth from services to Riga and Derry, both introduced in late 2006, offset by Stansted services underperforming against the prior year.

The airport handled 2,480 tonnes of freight in September - 5% down on the prior year total, however year to date freight volume is 6% ahead of the equivalent period in 2006.

Kent International Airport
Kent International handled 1,797 tonnes of freight in September. This is 12.5% down on the prior year, but a significant improvement of 117% on August with MK and Egypt Air performing well. The performance picked up considerably late in the month as produce imports to the UK accelerated as the local growing season wound down.

Lübeck Airport
Flughafen Lübeck handled 52,833 passengers in September, 12.5% down on the prior year.

The known capacity reductions on Dublin and Milan Bergamo meant this result was anticipated. Ryanair has again publicly confirmed its belief in the strong potential for a substantial base in Lübeck subject to the outcome of the planning processes. In the short term, however, it is likely traffic will remain flat and somewhat seasonal.
