NZ Bus Announcement

7 Mar 2011

The NZ Bus board announced today the resignation of CEO, Bruce Emson.

The Board has reluctantly accepted his resignation after four years in the job, and wish him all the best for his new challenges, the first of which are to assist his family and interests in Christchurch on their road to recovery.

During his tenure Bruce has overseen major changes within NZ Bus, including the rollout of community based services and a stronger focus on the customer. Other highlights include significant new investment in fleet and assets, and a complete upgrade of training, health and safety, and recruitment processes.

Most recently, the $50m commitment on new bus fleet underscores our support for better public transport solutions and our constructive relationships with our local government partners.

The Board has appointed Zane Fulljames as the new CEO of NZ Bus. Currently, Zane is COO at NZ Bus and has played a significant role in upgrading operational systems and processes, and the establishment of a new environment for collective employment agreements.

Zane assumes his new role on 29 April 2011.
